Section 3(1) of the Strata Titles Act 1985 (WA) contain very similar defenitions for both a strata scheme and a survey-strata scheme, with the difference in the definitions being reference to:
- a strata plan for strata scheme; and
- a survey-strata plan for survey strata-scheme
Section 5(1) of the Strata Titles Act 1985 (WA) provides that “a strata plan shall:
(a) consist of a location plan and a floor plan in respect of the parcel; and
(aa) where section 3(2)(a) or 3AB applies, contain a statement in the prescribed form describing all of the boundaries of a lot, or part of a lot, on the plan that are fixed by reference to a building or part of a building;”

Apartments/units are generally accessible by either a common elevator or stairway.
Unit entitlement is based on capital value.
Section 5(1)(a) of the Strata Titles Act 1985 (WA) provides that “a survey-strata plan shall contain a survey plan in respect of the parcel, that is a plan that defines, in the prescribed manner, the boundaries of lots and common property by dimensions and survey information obtained from a survey of the parcel;”
